PC Shipments Mark Steepest Decline With 10 Percent Drop

Again another article i thought was interesting around the business of PC Tablet’s, what would you need to do if i didn’t post this ehh? you’d have to check out the initial content, the chances that you found it would be slim, so think yourself fortunate that i have shared this excellent piece with you.

Personal-computer shipments fell 10 percent in 2013, marking the worst-ever decline after lackluster holiday sales underscored how consumers and businesses are shunning machines for mobile devices, two research firms said.

Manufacturers shipped 315.9 million units, returning to 2009 levels and making it the “worst decline in PC market history,” researcher Gartner Inc. said in a statement yesterday. IDC also said shipments had a record decline.

U.S. consumers omitted PCs from their holiday shopping lists while buyers in Asia opted for smartphones and tablets. More computing tasks are moving to websites and applications tailored for wireless gadgets, rather than software installed on laptops and desktops. The annual drop eclipsed the previous record decline of 3.9 percent in 2012, Gartner said.

“Consumer spending during the holidays did not come back to PCs as tablets were one of the hottest holiday items,” said Mikako Kitagawa, an analyst at Stamford, Connecticut-based Gartner. “In emerging markets, the first connected device for consumers is most likely a smartphone, and their first computing device is a tablet.”

Global sales fell 6.9 percent in the fourth quarter — the seventh straight drop — to 82.6 million units, Gartner said. IDC, based in Framingham, Massachusetts, reported a decline of 5.6 percent in the same period.

Corporate Upgrades

Lenovo Group Ltd. (996) maintained the No. 1 spot worldwide with 18.1 percent market share in the fourth quarter, helped by a 6.6 percent increase in shipments, according to Gartner. Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) was second with a 16.4 percent share as shipments declined 7.2 percent. Dell Inc. was third, the researcher said.

“We are extremely optimistic about the future of the $200 billion-plus PC industry,” Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo’s chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “We continue to outperform the market while steadily improving profit and margin.”

Lenovo shipped 14 million PCs in the last quarter, it said.

Growth in the PC market has become dependent on consumers and businesses replacing existing machines, rather than wooing new buyers. Enterprise demand is being driven in part by Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)’s plan to end support for its 13-year-old Windows XP operating system in April, compelling businesses to buy new PCs along with software upgrades.

U.S. shipments shrank 7.5 percent in the fourth quarter to 15.8 million units, Gartner said. Unit sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa fell 6.7 percent to 25.8 million, while the Asia-Pacific region saw a 9.8 percent decline to 26.5 million.

Photographer: Dhiraj Singh/Bloomberg

Loren Loverde, an analyst at IDC, said the decline in PC shipments was the worst since the researcher started tracking data in 1981, with the previous record seen in 2001, when sales shrank 3.7 percent.

“We don’t think it’s quite the bottom yet,” Loverde said. IDC is predicting a 3.8 percent decline in PC shipments for 2014 this year, and then growth of less than 1 percent in 2015, he said.

I need a new camera, Do i need one now i have my phone!

The Digital Camera has changed the way we take photos, the digital camera or Digicam is an electronic device that is able to take still photos as well as video, the digital camera records images with the use of an electronic image sensor and viewed on a mini screen on the camera or photo editor through a PC or MAC.

The digital camera is able to take photos at the click of a switch, excuse the pun! The photo can be seen instantaneously, particularly useful on a night out or for the important holiday snap, capture that moment with the use of the latest technology.

Great value cameras are now available at a very good price, they are designed to be portable and tiny, suitable for the casual snapshot and are commonly called point-and-shoot cameras. Many of the top companies Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Fujifilm, Samsung and Nikon all have top of the range models. The digital Camera now is full of features, the standard is now 14 megapixels with optical zoom of 5 times. HD digital camera capabilities are now standard with most cameras. GPS is now starting to be built in with the modern cameras, you can geo-tag photos with longitude and latitude capabilities.

Photos taken on a digital camera can be adjusted and improved through a photo editor, there are many on the market, including Photoshop and Pixlr, the photo editor can adjust and improve the images at the touch of a button taking out red eye, and other nasties, printing your pictures the way you want to see them.

Many cameras have portable SD cards that can be removed and put into a PC or Mac to be viewed, these come in lots of different sizes with the larger sized cards holding several thousand pictures. Many Cameras now have HDMI ports, to attach photos on your HDTV and monitors.

New Analog-to-Digital Migration Guide Helps Users Take Advantage of the Latest Technologies

What is your favourite feature of my 2 way radio? Personally, I like the design job – Its cooler than an Inuit’s underpants!

All around us, the wireless world is going digital. But organizations have questions about this breakthrough technology. To provide them with answers, BearCom and Motorola Solutions teamed up to create our Analog-to-Digital Migration Guide: “Five Reasons to Migrate to Digital Two-Way Radios.”

“A ‘smart’ revolution is transforming two-way radios,” the guide begins. “Digital technology is opening the door to a host of useful web-based applications for two-way radios, even as it enhances capacity, coverage, audio quality, and battery life.”

Available as a free download from BearCom.com, the guide details how digital two-way radios offer additional functionality, greater efficiency, enhanced coverage, improved audio quality, and extended battery life compared to analog radios. It explores the capabilities and benefits of the latest radios, the differences between analog and digital technologies, and the process for making a smooth transition to digital.

“There are plenty of exciting new digital two-way radio products available,” reads the cover letter from BearCom President & CEO Jerry Denham. “This new Analog-to-Digital Migration Guide is the latest tool we’ve developed to assist organizations around the country as they harness the power of digital performance to improve their communications capabilities.”

The guide includes details on the MOTOTRBO line of digital two-way radios from Motorola Solutions and the new Motorola CP200d, which was made available through BearCom last summer. In developing the CP200d, Motorola Solutions was able to retain the simplicity and durability that have helped make the Motorola CP200 analog model popular across a wide range of industries.

The guide also answers frequently asked questions, such as:
Why should we go digital?
How are apps useful in two-way radios?
Will analog radios become extinct?
Are my analog two-way radio accessories compatible with digital models?
How can I get the best value when selecting digital two-way radios?

WWE Crowns New World Champion at Landmark Event

Last Sunday, World Wrestling Entertainment hosted the 30th edition of its annual ‘WrestleMania’ Pay Per View event. The company celebrated its anniversary in style by crowning a new World Champion in Daniel Bryan, a greatly respected wrestler formerly known as ‘The American Dragon’.

The show, held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, featured a star-studded card. Returning stars Hulk Hogan, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and The Rock made non-wrestling appearances, as more recent stars like Antonio Cesaro, The Shield and AJ Lee emerged triumphant in various contests.

The talk of the night, however, was Daniel Bryan.

As part of the WWE’s ongoing storyline, ‘D-Bry’ had made an enemy of company bosses Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He first won the WWE Championship at the company’s ‘SummerSlam’ PPV in August of last year, however, minutes later, fellow wrestler Randy Orton arrived and took the belt away via the company’s ‘Money in the Bank’ stipulation.

Later, at September’s ‘Night of the Champions’ event, Bryan was victorious over Orton, only to have his title belt stripped away the following night by HHH. Further attempts to raise the gold at October’s ‘BattleGround’ PPV and October’s ‘Hell in a Cell’ event were also unsuccessful (in most cases due to some outside interference).

During this time, Daniel Bryan’s quest for the WWE laurels became a mainstream concern. His T-shirts were seen being worn at numerous American sporting events and his signature chants of “YES! YES! YES!” and “NO! NO! NO!” were heard in a multitude of sports.

For a while, the WWE appeared to have dropped Daniel Bryan as a Main Event prospect, raising the ire of his fellow wrestlers and wrestling fans alike. The company promoted returning wrestler and former champion Batista as being the hero that would unseat the villainous Randy Orton, but fans rejected this premise, booing Batista and demanding Bryan.

The event stipulations were that Daniel Bryan first had to defeat multi-time WWE Champion Triple H in order to gain a place in the Main Event against Orton and Batista (all are considerably bigger than the diminutive would-be champ). If successful, Bryan would then have to triumph over the combined might of two established WWE stars in order to finally take back the title.

The majority of fans were overjoyed by the result.

More controversial (and far more polarizing) was legendary wrestler The Undertaker’s loss to former WWE and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) kingpin Brock Lesnar. The Undertaker is famous for his winning streak at the WrestleMania events, having never lost in 21 years of appearances at the company’s flagship show.  Lesnar’s victory signalled ‘Taker’s first ever loss at the event, something which many fans found distasteful and upsetting.

WrestleMania has been the WWE’s signature event since 1985. The show was wrestling’s first major Pay Per View event and featured appearances by mainstream MTV stars of the time like Cindi Lauper, Mr. T and even Liberace.

In addition to numerous live musical acts (most notably Ray Charles, Little Richard, Living Colour, Run DMC, Willie Nelson, Ozzy Osbourne and Motorhead) later celebrity WrestleMania appearances have included boxing Champion Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, American footballer Lawrence ‘LT’ Taylor, Mike Tyson, baseball legend Pete Rose, Pamela Anderson, Burt Reynolds, Mickey Rourke, Alice Cooper and, of course, Muhammad Ali.

The 30th anniversary show was also the first WWE event to be streamed online via the company’s newest venture, the WWE Network, a live-streaming subscription service.

Nation Mourns Fundraiser Stephen Sutton

Stephen Sutton, the courageous 19-year-old cancer patient who raised more than £3Million for charity has sadly passed away.

Stephen’s story resonated with the hearts and minds of the British people once the news of his fundraising activities spread to social media. The Facebook post announcing his death was shared 120,000 times within an hour of going live.

However, Stephen’s good work has yet to end. Just two hours after the news was announced, Sutton’s fundraising page handled some £60,000 in donations. The total is now at £3.72 million and is still rising.

Jane Sutton, Stephen’s mother, said in a statement that, “My heart is bursting with pride but breaking with pain for my courageous, selfless, inspirational son”.

Stephen SuttonStephen Sutton was diagnosed with terminal metastatic bowel cancer aged just 15. The young man drew up a ‘bucket list’ of things he wanted to do before he died. These included skydiving, hugging an elephant and getting a tattoo. He also played the drums before the Uefa Champions League Final at Wembley last year, performing for some 90,000 attending fans.

Sutton even broke a world record by getting 554 people to make a heart shaped hand gesture earlier this month.

His charity work began when he set himself the goal of raising £10,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, but he did quite a bit better than that. Celebrities caught wind of Stephen’s selfless goals and pretty soon, publicity and money was flooding in. Comedian Jason Manford, one of Stephen’s strongest supporters, said that the young man “was the most inspiring person I’ve ever met and (he) touched more lives than he will ever know”

“In his darkest hour he selflessly dedicated his final moments to raising millions of pounds for teenagers with cancer”

The Teenage Cancer Trust, who received their largest ever donation from Stephen’s ‘Just Giving’ page said, “We are humbled and hugely grateful for what Stephen achieved and continues to achieve for us.”

On the page itself (https://www.justgiving.com/stephen-sutton-tct), Stephen says,

“Hi! My name’s Stephen and I’m pretty much like your average teenager- except for the last three years now I’ve been battling cancer. The current opinion voiced by my doctors is that my disease is incurable, and as a result I want to spend as much time as possible raising funds for a charity very close to my heart”.

The introduction doesn’t dwell on the negative, but instead looks forward with a positive eye, which just about says it all, really.

The image that most people will have of Stephen Sutton is of a fresh faced; handsome young man giving two thumbs up to the camera. A breathing mask pulled to one side is unable to hide a kind and genuine smile. But for the hospital bed, it could be a candid holiday snap.

Stephen’s bravery in the face of hardship, together with his generosity of spirit and positive message, stands as an inspiration to us all.

Google Glass Gets Ray Ban Treatment

The design firm behind Ray Ban and Oakley eyewear has teamed up with Google in order to make their upcoming ‘Google Glass’ product look as fashionable as possible.

Italian eyewear designers Luxottica, the firm that owns popular brands Ray Ban and Oakley, are looking to create a stylish new collection that combines “high end technology with avant garde design”. They hope this will place them – and new partners Google – firmly at the top of the anticipated “smart eyewear market”.

Luxottica Chief Executive Andrea Guerra says that Google Glass has the potential to “give birth to a new generation of revolutionary devices”.

Google Glass, first announced in 2011, is an augmented reality (AR) headset device that superficially resembles a pair of eyeglasses (although prescriptions will be available as well). The lens includes a small screen above the right eye that allows the user access to applications, the Internet and other functions. It can be operated via voice commands, or by using the small touchpad on the side of the device.

Glass is presently only available via application to Google’s ‘Explorer Program’, an initiative which the project’s website describes as being “for people who want to get involved early and help shape the future of Glass”. At present, it is only available to US residents and it costs $1,500 (roughly £900) to partake. To date, Google has sold more than 10,000 units to these ‘Explorers’.

Last week, the search engine giants unveiled a new version of their Android operating system, specifically made for Glass.

Google Glass’ ability to take photographs and record video has given rise to concerns about privacy. Copyright protection issues were also raised after one Glass user was ordered to leave a cinema.

Critics have also attacked the high pricing and the potential dangers caused by distraction whilst driving or walking down the street. After motorist Cecelia Abadie was issued a ticket for driving, Google began lobbying against proposed anti-Glass legislation, which would make it illegal to use the device whilst driving.

However, Guerra and her colleagues obviously have high hopes for Google Glass. “We believe that a strategic partnership with a leading player like Google is the ideal platform for developing a new way forward in our industry and answering the evolving needs of consumers on a global scale,” She said.

No pricing information for the new glasses has been disclosed at the time of writing.

Facebook Undergoes Gender Transformation

Representatives from social media site Facebook have announced that they are adding several new site options, which will allow users to effectively customize their gender.

This action was taken after Facebook employees consulted members of 5 leading gay and transgender advocacy groups.

There will now be around 50 new options, including ‘bi-gender’, ‘transgender’ and ‘androgynous’. It will also be possible for users to choose whether the site refers to them as ‘he’, ‘she’ or ‘they’.

Facebook engineer Brielle Harrison told the press that, “There’s going to be a lot of people for whom this is going to mean nothing, but for the few it does impact, it means the world,” However, as of 2011, there were an estimated 700,000 transgender adults in the US, so this decision is likely to positively effect a sizeable amount of people.

Gender is not the same concept as sex, or even sexuality, yet the general public erroneously considers all of them to be interchangeable. Whilst a person’s sex simply refers to their sexual organs, the term ‘gender’ actually describes their social role within a broader cultural context.

For example, a person who considers him/herself to be bi-gender can often feel trapped when forced to conform to a culturally enforced ‘male’ or ‘female’ gender role. Bi-gender people generally exhibit traits indicative of multiple sexes, or occasionally create alternate personas for both their male and female sides.

People who describe themselves as transgender feel that a sex-based description is an incomplete one. They do not appreciate the rigid definition of ‘male’ or ‘female’ being thrust upon them and prefer instead to define themselves. This is, of course, totally independent of a person’s sexual orientation. It is possible for a heterosexual male to identify as a female (and vice versa).

For another example, intersex individuals are people born with a variation in their sex characteristics, making them neither male nor female in terms of biology. Often, these people find our cultural enforcement of gender roles to be stifling and deeply emotionally unsettling.

As of this week, Facebook’s English-speaking users will have the option to define themselves by these, or a multitude of other gender-based characteristics. The decision will allow users “to express themselves in an authentic way” according to Facebook.

This move reflects the growing exposure that LGBT groups and individuals are getting within contemporary culture. The Transgender Law Center in San Francisco stated that they were “thrilled” by the news. They are likely not alone.

Innovative or Simply Post-Modern? New Paradigms in the Study of "Radio"

Radio is the wireless transmission of signals through free space by electromagnetic radiation of a frequency significantly below that of visible light, in the radio frequency range, from about 30 kHz to 300 GHz. These waves are called radio waves. Electromagnetic radiation travels by means of oscillating electromagnetic fields that pass through the air and the vacuum of space.
Information, such as sound, is carried by systematically changing some property of the radiated waves, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. When radio waves strike an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. The information in the waves can be extracted and transformed back into its original form.
Etymology
The etymology of “radio” or “radiotelegraphy” reveals that it was called “wireless telegraphy”, which was shortened to “wireless” in Britain. The prefix radio- in the sense of wireless transmission, was first recorded in the word radioconductor, a description provided by the French physicist Édouard Branly in 1897. It is based on the verb to radiate .
The word “radio” also appears in a 1907 article by Lee De Forest. It was adopted by the United States Navy in 1912, to distinguish radio from several other wireless communication technologies, such as the photophone. The term became common by the time of the first commercial broadcasts in the United States in the 1920s. The term was adopted by other languages in Europe and Asia. British Commonwealth countries continued to commonly use the term “wireless” until the mid-20th century, though the magazine of the BBC in the UK has been called Radio Times ever since it was first published in the early 1920s.
In recent years the more general term “wireless” has gained renewed popularity through the rapid growth of short-range computer networking, e.g., Wireless Local Area Network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, as well as mobile telephony, e.g., GSM and UMTS. Today, the term “radio” specifies the actual type of transceiver device or chip, whereas “wireless” refers to the lack of physical connections; one talks about radio transceivers, but another talks about wireless devices and wireless sensor networks.
Processes
Radio systems used for communications will have the following elements. With more than 100 years of development, each process is implemented by a wide range of methods, specialized for different communications purposes.
Transmitter and modulation
Each system contains a transmitter. This consists of a source of electrical energy, producing alternating current of a desired frequency of oscillation. The transmitter contains a system to modulate some property of the energy produced to impress a signal on it. This modulation might be as simple as turning the energy on and off, or altering more subtle properties such as amplitude, frequency, phase, or combinations of these properties. The transmitter sends the modulated electrical energy to a tuned resonant antenna; this structure converts the rapidly changing alternating current into an electromagnetic wave that can move through free space.
Amplitude modulation of a carrier wave works by varying the strength of the transmitted signal in proportion to the information being sent. For example, changes in the signal strength can be used to reflect the sounds to be reproduced by a speaker, or to specify the light intensity of television pixels. It
was the method used for the first audio radio transmissions, and remains in use today. “AM” is often used to refer to the mediumwave broadcast band .
Frequency modulation varies the frequency of the carrier. The instantaneous frequency of the carrier is directly proportional to the instantaneous value of the input signal. Digital data can be sent by shifting the carrier’s frequency among a set of discrete values, a technique known as frequency-shift keying.
FM is commonly used at VHF radio frequencies for high-fidelity broadcasts of music and speech . Normal TV sound is also broadcast using FM.
Angle modulation alters the instantaneous phase of the carrier wave to transmit a signal. It is another term for Phase modulation.

Life isn’t about Xbox, it is about Kinnection!

The Xbox Kinect is an incredible thing. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve wanted to fight the in-game characters one-on-one instead of relying on moves and combos.

“If I didn’t have to rely on these buttons so damn much” I frequently grumble, “I’d grab that monster and kick it in myself!”

Irrespective of what the version you’re playing is, this gargantuan pie eater will be there, barring your entrance into a new location until you havesolved some mystery or found him something. If a fat bloke did that in real life, I know that I for one would be first in line to smack him in the gob. I’m not an especially violent person, but I have things to do, y’know?

Perhaps that’s what makes a video game villain, maybe Team Rocket and that lot just got sick of fat people blocking their path? I can’t say I blame anybody in the world of Pokemon for turning evil if their reasons were frustration at constant road blockage, except the cycle lanes, because they kind of make sense. They are cat lovers after all and cat lovers can’t be bad people, can they?

Well, with the Kinect, your body is the controller. When you’re boxing or fighting, its your own fist you’re swinging, when you’re running, its your own legs you’re pumping. Today, the Xbox 360 with kinect bundle can give you everything you need to get started in one cut price purchase.

Yes, you read that right, the Xbox 360 with kinect bundle represents the future of gaming. You can, at last, take matters into your own hands. You can at last use your reflexes and natural instincts rather than relying on controllers and other peripherals. The future is now, which puts us only a few centuries away from the development of the first holodeck, yay! (Oh come on, you know you were thinking it!)

Tributes paid to "wrestling pioneer" Mae Young who has died at the age of 90

Pioneering female professional wrestler Mae Young has passed away aged 90.

To date, Mae Young is the only professional wrestler in history (male or female) to have had documented matches in nine different decades. She began wrestling in 1939, at the onset of the Second World War and her last match took place in 2010.

Young, real name Johnnie Mae Young, was originally billed as ‘The Amazing’, ‘The Queen’ or ‘The Great’ Mae Young but was ultimately far better known simply as Mae Young. She enjoyed one of the most celebrated and unique careers in the history of professional wrestling.

Young’s wrestling debut came whilst she was still a teenager, after starring in the boy’s amateur wrestling team at school. During World War 2, she became a popular attraction, inspiring many other women to become professional wrestlers.

In 1951, Young was crowned as the first ever NWA Florida (National Wrestling Alliance) Women’s Champion and eventually became the NWA’s first United States Women’s Champion.

During the 50’s, Young wrestled for the WWWA (World Women’s Wrestling Association), bringing credibility and popularity to Women’s wrestling. She remained a draw throughout her career.

Modern day wrestling fans know Young best for her stint with the WWF (World Wrestling Federation – now known as World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE) from 1999-2000, in which she played a more comedic role. However, despite being nearly 80 years old, Young was still highly active as a wrestler. She participated in matches and storylines with her best friend, The Fabulous Moolah, another pioneer of Women’s wrestling and multi-time Women’s Champion (who had been partly trained by Young).

Mae Young would appear on WWE television, playing a number of roles from comedy character to respected veteran, throughout the next decade, with her final appearance being a celebration of her 90th birthday in 2013.

Memorable moments from her WWE tenure include being kissed by The Rock, giving the ‘Bronco Buster’ finisher to former WCW (World Championship Wrestling) boss Eric Bischoff, being beaten up by Tag Team wrestlers The Dudley Boyz and becoming ‘pregnant’ by Olympic weightlifter and former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry. “She will be missed as much as anyone I’ve ever known!” said Henry.

In 2008, Mae Young was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Since the announcement of Young’s death, tributes have flooded in from the wrestling world. Former WWE Champion-turned actor The Rock said, “She is a wrestling pioneer. I truly had deep affection and respect for ‘Auntie Mae’ Young”

WWE boss Vince McMahon said, “Her longevity in sports entertainment may never be matched, and I will forever be grateful for all of her contributions to the industry. On behalf of WWE, I extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.”

‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper wrote, “”May Young was a wonderful lady! When I started in the business May teased me a lot. Love you May!” Multiple time WWE, WCW and NWA Champion Ric Flair called Young “An incredible person and pioneer of the wrestling business” Whilst, in an emotional Tweet, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts wrote, “Nobody, male or female, loved & respected the wrestling business more than her. True legend.”

Mae Young will be remembered by her fans as a pioneer and a female icon, as well as a charismatic performer with a great sense of humor. She was genuinely among the toughest human beings, be they male or female, to ever step between the ropes.

If you utilize motorola radios at work, then you need to look at these earpieces

We consume a load of time writing about Motorola radios, so we’ve decided to do a succession that concentrates on the earpieces that relate to them.

Not only do a quantity of respectable businesses make top-of-the-range two way radios that are both affordable and reliable, there are additionally a huge array of radio earpieces that vary from inexpensive and cheerful (but nonetheless operational) to the last word in techno badassery (Editor’s Note: not actually a word).

So, kicking off our new 5-part sequence celebrating 2 way radio earpieces, is the Motorola 2-pin earpiece.

Amazon lists this thing at a paltry £17.50, but the GP300 earpiece is surprisingly high spec for such a inexpensive device.

First of all, this is wholly versatile, as it fits into any 2 pin Motorola radio. It may not be the best earpiece ever made, but it will match with any number of diverse Motorola 2 way radios. However, I must say that the GP300 earpiece does require an adaptor block to work with Motorola GP320 and Motorola GP340 series radios (oh well, you cannot have everything!)

Secondly, the noise quality is excellent; there will be no misunderstandings or botched comms when the Motorola gp300 earpiece is in use, that is for sure. For such a cheap device, it in fact reproduces noises amazingly clearly.

Thirdly, there are the features. These features are a bit thin on the ground when evaluated with some of the costlier Motorola units, but they continue to enrich the user experience and add to the complete product.

Want illustrations? Well, the Motorola 2-pin earpiece is ergonomically designed to fit your ear canal comfortably and is effortlessly able to wear in either the left or the right ear (whatever you happen to favour).

It also has an in-built ‘push to talk’ button, so you are not dependent on your two way radio’s controls in order to transmit an outgoing message. It also has a sprung metallic clothing clip that attaches the Motorola gp300 earpiece to what you happen to be wearing, enabling you to be discreet, as well as to prevent tangling yourself up in wires.

Overall, the Motorola 2-pin is a fine radio earpiece. A variety of companies have created better ones and I would not propose this one if President Obama asks your business to guard him on his next family skiing trip, but for most intents and jobs, the Motorola gp300 earpiece gets the job done.

In our next episode, we’ll be taking a look at the GP340 earpiece, but for more information on the full range of Motorola gp300 earpieces visit www.earpieceonline.co.uk

What could be the best LG 42-Inch LED TV on the web at the moment

If you believe long and hard about it, you have most likely owned a bit of LG electronic gear one day in your life. The corporation has been supplying quality products since 1947, beginning with chemicals and plastics and going from there. LG in reality make quite a lot of equipment, but the South Korean firm is probably best recognized because of its electronics products.

This years LG 42 inch LED Television is likely to be one of those most visible of that aforementioned LG products in the coming months. New for 2013, this new all-singing, all-dancing smart Telly is, to put it mildly, utterly gob-smacking.

With a MASSIVE 42 inch Full HD 1080P widescreen (that also facilitates for Cinema 3D), you know which you’ll be considering one of the clearest, most dazzlingly beautiful displays on the web today.

Additionally to that, this TV has, well, many of the trimmings. Downloadable apps, built-in Freeview and an all-inclusive Wi-fi only add to the fun. So when you hook this bad boy up to your Bluray player plus your surround sound speaker system, you’ll be looking at a cinema quality experience in the comfort of your own flat.

Actually, having a Television this good, you may well be getting at an experience so immersive that it actually bests the cinema for ambience. As for gaming? Forget about it (and I mean that in the good way), your games will never have appeared so cool. The sounds and images won’t ever of been sharper or better defined.

As for this Internet, you should be able to make use of a WiFi connection that’s at least as decent as your android tablet/Smartphone, if not even better. Brilliant apps like ‘LoveFilm’ ‘Facebook’ and ‘Youtube’ will bring the best of that Internet out of titchy devices or isolated desktop computers and into the lounge for all to share and enjoy.

What we’re taking a look at today, without exaggeration, is one of those best TVs in the earth today. Crisp picture, magnificent sound output and more options than you can shake a TV Guide at. You actually can’t go wrong.

Today’s movies, games and also TV are being made for systems like this. High definition cameras are used to fully make the most of formats like 3D, HD and Widescreen. If you really want to get the best out of your Bluray library, you then owe it to yourself to upgrade to a innovative new LG 42 inch LED Television.

What Nintendo 3ds can do

I have a Nintendo DS. I suppose its maybe a bit passé by current standards, with the Wii, the PSP and what-have-you out on the market, but for me it picked up where my Gameboy Advance left off, which picked off where my original Gameboy did. It works well, the games are great and the touchscreen works perfectly. It’s smart-looking and feels cool.

So how do you improve on a big selling, popular DS model? Answer: Take a leaf out of Hollywood’s book and embrace digital 3D technology. TheNintendo 3DS is a major new invention in gaming, though time will tell if it will catch on. If the device sells, its promise of using autostereoscopy (which creates a 3D effect without the requirement of nerdy glasses) could potentially revolutionize the way we play video games.

The Nintendo 3DS and its new line of 3D Nintendo games will cast an imposing new challenge to the portable gaming world. Personally, I can’t wait. The DS, already a classy, grown-up take on the Gameboy, played by professionals on lunch break, retirees and Uni students as well as young children, is set once more to lead the charge with its current 3D incarnation.

Another great feature is its backwards compatibility. The old DS Nintendo games you have at home? Don’t worry about them, you’ll still be able to play them on your new Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo’s modern reinvention continues to impress. I’m a poet and I don’t know it!

We could be looking at a brand new innovation in video game technology happening right before our eyes. This could be as big an idea as taking games out of the arcades and putting them in the home in the first place. It’s potentially that important. The Nintendo 3DS and the latest, coolest line of Nintendo games could be the best ever. Personally, I look forward to seeing how great a game can look on a tiny little device, what else can Nintendo offer its customers besides walking on water? It really could be huge. However, if unsuccessful, the Nintendo 3DS could go down in history as a folly of epic proportions. Suppose the picture quality doesn’t deliver or the graphics aren’t up to much? What happens then? If Nintendo falls on this one, they stand to fall from a very great height indeed. Time, and market forces, will tell.

I Can See Plainly Now…Plasma TV gets a good reception

The plasma TV is fast turning into one of those ‘every home should have one’ things. These days, almost every friend I visit has some variation on the LCD television against their wall or tucked in the corner of the living room somewhere.

The advantages of plasma television are numerous, aside from improved picture, which is a given, plasma TV is also easier to attach modern peripherals to and is entirely digital of course. It even takes up far less space in the room than the bulkier models. It is utterly modern, and it looks as swish as swish can look.

On an LCD television, I watched ‘Evil Dead’ and it was like Bruce Campbell was coming right at me! The picture quality is simply outstanding. Everything is so clear, it’s like you’ve been watching TV with cataracts your entire life. A plasma TV says something about you, it says that you are the kind of devil-may-care rogue who isn’t satisfied with merely watching ‘Evil Dead’. Oh no, not you. You want to be splattered with dog food and karo syrup too! (nerd joke).

Of course, if you hook it up with a Blu Ray player and 5.1 surround sound, then you’re really setting a dangerous precedent. You might think your plasma tv is real life and mistake your Blu Ray collection for actual memories. Imagine, if you will, texting your best mate thus: ‘Can’t come over 2nite m8, got to blow up the Death Star then raid the lost ark.’ Though, knowing my friends, they would probably think the second one was a rude euphemism, and it’s doubtful that ‘Death star’ is on predictive text.

Work days would fly by, rent and phone bills would go unpaid, but what could you do? You were at Woodstock…Your girl/boyfriend would shack up with your best mate/sibling (whichever sounds worst) and sooner or later the police would kick down your door and find you in your dressing gown swinging a flashlight around and calling yourself ‘Obi Wan’. But you know what? There’s every chance that you won’t end up being a plasma TV casualty. In fact, there’s every chance you will simply vastly improve your home entertainment system. However, I’m still not responsible if you stick cutlery between your fingers, gel up your hair and make people call you ‘Wolverine.’

Channel 4 Buys Hitler’s Hair for £3000

British TV station Channel 4 is being strongly criticized after it authorized the purchase of a lock of hair that apparently once belonged to Adolf Hitler, for £3000.

The hair, which was acquired for DNA testing as part of the upcoming show ‘Dead Famous DNA’, was allegedly collected by the Dictator’s barber.

Channel 4 bought the hair from Nazi sympathizer and Holocaust denier David Irving. The controversial ‘historian’ also attempted to sell other Nazi memorabilia online in 2009.

Yahoo! News quoted Labour MP Ian Austin as saying that the sale represented a particularly uncouth publicity stunt. Austin said, “This sounds sick. It’s appalling that Channel 4 would get involved with a Holocaust denier in some bizarre and tawdry show purporting to be entertainment (…) It’s disgusting, and raises questions about Channel 4’s public broadcasting remit.”

However, Channel 4 defended the move, with a spokesperson saying that “We believe the potential importance of the scientific and historical insight justified the purchase,”

Initially considered to be a respected academic, British author David Irving’s career as a historian gradually fell into decline as his works became more and more biased towards Hitler’s Third Reich. He has since spoken at various Neo Nazi rallies and has gone on record, a great many times, as both a Holocaust denier and a virulent anti-Semite. He has stated that he believes in a Jewish conspiracy to rule the world and has openly accused concentration camp survivors of lying about their experiences.

At the time of writing, Irving is banned from entering Germany, Austria, Italy, Australia and Canada.

According to The Jewish Chronicle Online, Mark Gardner, director of communications at the Community Security Trust, said, “It is distasteful to see Hitler being sensationalized in this way, but even worse that David Irving – of all people – ought to profit from it in this way.”

‘Dead Famous DNA’ is to be fronted by Mark Evans and will see the DNA testing of the remains of other famous figures from history. People like Charles Darwin, Marilyn Monroe and Napoleon Bonaparte. The programme will be broadcast later this week.
